Bringing the light of Christ into communities

Respite Care

Respite care is a flexible service designed to assist and support relatives and friends who are providing care at home for people who are unable to care for themselves because of chronic illness, disability or frailty. It enables care providers to return to the workplace or take a break from caring. This flexible client focused respite program is situated within and supported by the infrastructure of Bribie Island Aged Care Services.

If you care for an elderly person, relative or friend our respite service on Bribie Island can offer assistance with:

  • flexible day respite arrangements from early morning to evening, six days a week
  • meals and transport, if needed
  • opportunity for clients to participate in programs and activities which enhance quality of life and provide social contact.

Bribie Island Day Respite Centre is co-located with Bribie Island Aged Care Services and Bribie Island Retirement Village. Staff and volunteers provide support to older members of the Bribie Island community in a multi-dimensional service.
