Residential Aged Care – nursing home and hostel accommodation

Who is eligible for residential aged care accommodation?

To enter aged care you must be assessed by a member of the ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team). We are happy to provide assistance in getting this assessment, please phone us on 1800 900 001 or contact us online for further information.

How do I access residential aged care accommodation?

To be eligible for these services you need to be assessed by an Aged Care Assessment Team. Your local GP should be able to point you in the right direction. Then, if a Community Aged Care Package is appropriate, you will be referred to a service such as Churches of Christ Care.

What personal things can I take into residential aged care?

Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms to continue the homelike atmosphere at the facility. We will provide most of the furnishings you need. Please please phone us on 1800 900 001 or contact us online for further information.

Community Aged Care

Who is eligible for a Community Aged Care Package (CACP) ?

Community Aged Care Packages  (CACPs) are offered to older persons who:

  • are over 70 years (50 years for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people)
  • have a commitment to remain at home
  • are at risk of premature entry into residential aged care
  • have complex care needs.

How do I receive a Community Aged Care Package?

What is an ‘EACHD’ package?

Extended Aged Care at Home Dementia (EACHD) packages are individually planned packages of care tailored to help older Australians who experience difficulties in their daily life because of behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with dementia, such as significant memory loss, agitation and depression.
